Benny Benassi
Electro-house innovation and a global dancefloor legacy
Benny Benassi is an Italian DJ and producer whose distinctive sound helped shape electro house during the early 2000s. Working closely with his cousin and production partner Alle Benassi, he developed a style built around distorted basslines, mechanical rhythms and powerful club-focused arrangements.
His international breakthrough came with Satisfaction, released as Benny Benassi Presents The Biz. The track's instantly recognisable bassline and synthesised vocal became a worldwide dance anthem, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the UK Dance Singles Chart.
Benassi continued his success with albums including Hypnotica, Rock 'N' Rave and Electroman. His wider catalogue includes collaborations with artists such as Gary Go, Chris Brown, John Legend and Madonna. In 2008, he won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording for his remix of Public Enemy's Bring The Noise.
More than two decades after his breakthrough, Benny Benassi remains an influential international DJ and producer whose work connects electro house, festival dance music and mainstream electronic pop.
