GAIA is a Dutch trance project created by Armin van Buuren and producer Benno de Goeij. Originally introduced as an Armin van Buuren alias, GAIA developed into a collaborative project recognised for melodic, atmospheric and uplifting trance.
The project first appeared with 4 Elements in 2000. GAIA returned in 2009 with Tuvan, followed by a series of established trance releases including Aisha, Status Excessu D, Stellar, J’ai Envie De Toi and Empire of Hearts.
GAIA’s productions combine expansive melodies, driving rhythms and cinematic electronic soundscapes. The project has become an important part of modern trance, offering a deeper and more conceptual counterpart to Armin van Buuren’s wider catalogue.
Aisha
Originally released in 2010, Aisha became one of GAIA’s defining productions. Its uplifting melody, progressive development and emotional atmosphere helped establish it as an enduring favourite among trance listeners.
The track now returns as a limited-edition blue vinyl 12-inch release through Armada. The pressing brings together the timeless Extended Mix with three interpretations from leading names in trance: Aly & Fila, Ashley Wallbridge and Ørjan Nilsen.
